LGBT CHARITY UK is a non-profit charity organisation charged with the responsibility of providing support to LGBT projects.
We understand that a lot of people's human rights are trampled upon on a daily basis and therefore make it a point of duty to launch campaigns to raise funds to assist these people.
We will also work in tandem with other organisations that wish to challenge anti-gay laws within and outside the United Kingdom. Laws that criminalize lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people have over the years put them beyond the protection of the law, fostering a climate of fear and violence.
LGBT CHARITY UK as part of its charity services will leave its doors open to offer advice, support and information to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) within and outside our community.
We will also be available to receive donations from individuals, families and other organisations that wish to join us in the fight against LGBT discrimination at schools, work places and in the society.
We will also have available for sale various products that have been donated to us such as clothes, bric-a-brac and other valuable products that will help us generate some income to fund our projects.
Upon launch of our organisation, we will strive to be at the forefront in the struggle to promote equality, eliminate discrimination, provide access to education and health care as well as protect the basic rights for the LGBT community.
The LGBT rights movement has many miles to go to achieve full equality. LGBT people still encounter consistent threats to their safety and security beginning at a young age. Compared to the general youth population, LGBT youth are more likely to struggle with depression, develop suicidal thoughts, contract HIV, become homeless and experience physical violence.
As a community, LGBT people face higher rates of poverty, stigma, and marginalization, which put us at greater risk for sexual assault. We also face higher rates of hate-motivated violence, which can often take the form of sexual assault. Moreover, the ways in which society both hypersexualizes LGBT people and stigmatizes our relationships can lead to intimate partner violence that stems from internalized homophobia and shame. As a result of these challenges and dangers to their physical and mental well-being, substance use and addiction are a significant problem in the LGBT community.
LGBT Charity UK is an organization whose mission is to create an atmosphere where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or discrimination. We envision a world in which LGBT individuals have equal opportunities, protection, and rights. We are working toward the day when all citizens have the freedom, power, and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives.
But we can’t do it alone.
LGBT Charity UK needs people like you to support our services to help lift up those people in our community.
